Alternative Dispute Resolution

Judge Munro offers services in mediation, arbitration, med-arb, and private judging. These services are available at the Munro at Law premises at 88 Bradley Road, Woodbridge, CT, or at the offices of any of the participating attorneys.

Mediation

Mediation is a less antagonistic path towards resolution of disputes with the assistance of a neutral party. When agreements are reached, they are submitted to the court and are equally as binding as a court decision. Judge Munro acts as a mediator for a wide range of cases including:

Arbitration (Private Judging)

Arbitration offers an opportunity to access Judge Munro’s lifetime of experience with the Connecticut courts and law in order to reach a resolution on a case in a more timely fashion than is currently available by going to trial. Parties present their case to Judge Munro as they would in court, and the decision reached by Judge Munro is submitted to the court, not subject to further adjustments. This allows disputes to be resolved quickly, permanently, and fairly. Judge Munro offers arbitration services in all the areas listed above, except for custody and child support which are not currently allowed to be decided through arbitration.

Med-Arb

Med-Arb offers the opportunity for parties to attempt to mediate, but in the event an agreement cannot be reached, the parties agree to accept Judge Munro’s arbitration decision, and it is submitted to the courts. This option means that disputes which fail to be resolved in a more amicable way will not be dragged through protracted litigation in the court system, which often takes years. Judge Munro offers med-arb in all areas in which mediation is available.
